Fido was established in 2012 by the conglomerates of Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Apple. This was a biometric capability to remove any password necessary to be entered. All you would need to do is utilize your fingerprint, facial recognition and input it into your phone or mobile device. I’m excited to see what the future holds for this little powerhouse and how this will help us stay safe and secure in the years to come.
Biometric passwords are the wave of the future. They’re more secure than traditional passwords and can’t be guessed or hacked like a traditional password can. Biometric passwords are also convenient because you don’t have to remember them. All you need is your fingerprint, iris scan, or face scan to log in. The only downside to biometric passwords is that if you lose your mobile device, you’re out of luck. There’s no way to reset a biometric password like there is with a traditional password. But overall, biometric passwords are a great way to keep your accounts secure and convenient.
Let’s say you lose your device. You’re panicking because you can’t remember your password and you don’t have your biometric sign-in linked to your device. Even worse, your fingerprint has been compromised and all your passwords are now accessible to a hacker. This would create a major problem down the road when you need to update your device. Biometric sign-ins are becoming increasingly popular because they’re more secure than passwords. If your fingerprint is compromised, all your passwords are now accessible to a hacker. Biometric sign-ins are the future of security and you should consider using them to protect your passwords.
The future of a simple login using your biometric sign-in is definitely exciting. Apple is one of the leaders to be coming out with the product in its upcoming iOS. This of course is going to be circumstantial depending on how you look at it with both good and bad features. The biggest positive coming out of this is no longer will you have to remember your password even though it may be 1 2 3 4. This could save a lot of people time, but then again if someone gets ahold of your phone they could have access to everything. These are just some things to think about when this product comes out, but I’m sure Apple has thought about them as well. There are definitely pros and cons to this new feature, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
