Ontario Incorporations NEED to do this!

Every Ontario business must file an annual return with the Ontario Business Registry. This is done online, and must be completed by the date specified on the website. Fines and penalties will apply if the return is not filed on time.

The Ontario Business Registry website provides step-by-step instructions

Ontario corporations are required to file annual returns with the Ontario government. This is now mandatory and necessary. However, what to do and how to do it is now outlined by Adam Oldfield. Find out more in how to register your Ontario incorporation in this video. When you file your annual return, you will need to provide information about your corporation, such as its name, address, and contact information. You will also need to indicate whether your corporation is active or inactive. If your corporation is inactive, you may need to provide a reason for why it is not conducting business. Once you have filed your annual return, you will be able to view and update your corporation’s information online. You can also file your annual return electronically.

To sign in, you need to use ONe-Key. ONe-Key is a government 2 factor authentication system that uses your mailing address as a way to verify your identity. The ONe-Key registration process is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete. Once you have registered with ONe-Key, you will be able to access your account using your ONe-Key ID and password. In addition, you will be able to use ONe-Key to login to government services and websites. If you have not registered with ONe-Key, you will need to do so before you can sign up for an account. To register with ONe-Key, simply go to the ONe-Key website and provide your personal information.

ISSUES WHEN YOU REGISTER

There are a few potential problems that can arise when the Federal government removes your name as a Director or officer with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). First, you may need to prove to the CRA that you were still the registered Director or officer of your company at the time of the removal. This can be difficult to do, especially if you no longer have access to the relevant records. Second, if you have any outstanding tax debts, the CRA may use the removal as an opportunity to try and collect those debts from you. Finally, if you have recently filed any tax Returns, the CRA may question whether those Returns were filed correctly in light of the change in your status. These problems can all be overcome with careful planning and diligence.

If you are trying to fix the problem of being removed as the owner of a corporation in Ontario, you will need to take some specific steps. First, you will need to download a corporate profile from the Ontario business registry website. Then, you will need to write on company letterhead your Social Security number and a letter to the Canada revenue agency advising that you are the Director and officer of the company. CRA will then reinstate you as the owner of the corporation. These steps are essential in order to fix the problem and get yourself reinstated as the owner of the corporation.
