It’s official August 16, 2022 will be the launch of the Darkside of comedy with the TV series beginning with Chris Farley. I had the opportunity to play the character of Chris Farley for this upcoming TV show.
DARK SIDE OF COMEDY – FEATURING ADAM OLDFIELD AS CHRIS FARLEY
I am so excited for the launch of Vice TV’s Dark Side of Comedy, and I am honoured to be appearing in the Chris Farley episode. I have always been told that I have an uncanny resemblance to him, and I certainly share his sense of humour. I hope that I can do justice to his memory with my performance. He was one of my favourite comedians and I still laugh at his jokes today. I believe that laughter is one of the most important things in life, and I am dedicated to continuing Chris Farley’s legacy by making people laugh.
ROTARY CLUB OF HAMILTON – LAUGHS FOR LITERACY
I’m always looking for new opportunities to get involved in the community, and I was thrilled when I was approached by the Rotary Club of Hamilton to help with their Laugh for Literacy fundraiser. The event was a huge success, and we were able to raise thousands of dollars for inner-city children within the city of Hamilton. I had a blast performing at the event, and it was great to see so many people coming together to support a good cause.
MENTAL HEALTH IS AN ISSUE
Today, many people don’t understand that we deal with so much stress that mental health is such a serious concern. We don’t take a breath and understand the humour is a critical part of our life. I believe that events like Laugh for Literacy are important in helping to spread awareness about mental health and its importance in our lives.
STRESS OF SMALL BUSINESS
I operate many businesses I deal with a lot of stresses… running Vacu-Man, FPM3, teaching at Mohawk College or hosting the radio show on 900 CHML TechTalk each week. Whether it’s the CRA, staffing concerns, and upset customers. I have always strived to make sure that no matter how much I deal with I always put a smile either on the people around me or even to myself at the end of the day.
AWESOME TO BE CHRIS FARLEY
This is why it was so emotional for me to be able to be cast as Chris Farley, in a series that speaks about his rise and fall in such a short period of time. I was working at 900 CHML as an intern collecting weather in traffic information when the news came out that he had passed. I had always been one of the biggest Chris Farley fans, as my comedy even before I knew his existence was very similar.
I certainly hope everyone gets the opportunity to experience seeing the TV show but more so to remember this man who was so sweet, caring and gave everything he got just to put a smile on everyone’s face.
